The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is a regional transit system that serves the city of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. For one year, I worked as a graphic design intern on the CTA’s Employee Engagement team. During this time, I created graphics for internal company events, monthly multi-platform graphics for holiday celebrations, various motion graphics, and assisted at in-person employee events. Below are some selected project from my time at CTA.

Making Their Mark Video Series

Motion Graphics

Making Their Mark was a 4-part video campaign highlighting CTA employees in celebration of Transit Employee Appreciation Month. Videos contained interviews and footage of four different CTA employees and were posted on CTA socials.

Holiday & Heritage Monthly Graphics

Social Media Graphics, Multi-Platform Graphics

Holiday and Heritage is the CTA’s series of graphics used to celebrate various holidays on CTA social media, monitors, and the internal MyCTA app. Every month, I created between 5–10 Holiday and Heritage graphics, each of which I also formatted to be used in 3 different aspect ratios, resulting in 120+ graphics designed throughout my internship.

MyCTA Icon Collection

Icon Design

A collection of icons created to be used in the MyCTA app. Each icon represents a different employee event including fall, winter, and summer tour stops, heritage month celebrations, and various events such as food demonstrations, birthdays, and transit operator graduation.

Intern Symposium Final Presentation

Motion Graphics

To finish off the year, all CTA interns were asked to create a final presentation of their work. The guidelines for this project were fairly open, so I decided to practice the motion graphics skills that I had learned during the time of my internship and create a video showcasing my best projects of the year.
